My name is David Ward, and I have been a patient of Dr. Leonard's for over 10 years. He has treated me for cluster headaches, a rare and debilitating form of headaches. The pain they cause is so severe and the onset so sudden that I was forced to sharply curtail all activities other than work, and was often unable even to work a full schedule. Given that medical science is still not certain of the cause of cluster headaches, Dr. Leonard's ability and willingness to think outside the box of "normal" headache treatment is impressive. One of the problems with these headaches is that a treatment that has been successful at one point will sometimes cease to be effective. Dr. Leonard has been able to see around the problem and find different ways to approach the problem.

Not only that, Dr. Leonard continually showed concern and compassion for the problems I was having as a result of these headaches. I felt as if it was as important to him as it was to me to get relief from the pain. This man is a compassionate, caring doctor who places the welfare of his patients above all other considerations. His patients, and the Austin medical community need and deserve his rapid return to his practice. To do otherwise would be a complete miscarriage of justice and due process.
