Re: Phillip Leonard, MD
Gentlemen,
I have known Phil Leonard, MD, for approximately twenty years now. During that
time I have had numerous opportunities to refer patients to him, and at times
work together on a particular patient's case. I have always found him to present
himself in a professional manner, and the instances during which I have observed
him interact and examine patients have uniformly been positive. His demeanor and
conduct have always been consistent with the high standard to which we desire
our profession to be held. For the most part, I am largely unaware of the
allegations against him, however I have never witnessed Dr. Leonard to behave in
anything but the most appropriate and professional manner. I have never even
heard him make an off color joke, laugh at such a joke, make inappropriate
comments, or any other behavior that would lead me to believe he is not fully
respectful of patients rights, regardless of their sex, color or religious
beliefs. Honestly, I am incredulous regarding the entire chain of events and
stream of allegations, as I have NEVER witnessed any behavior what-so-ever that
would lead me to believe such allegations had any basis in fact.
Sincerely,
Dr. Patrick J. Crocker, FACEP
Chief of Staff, Brackenridge Hospital
